We held our Parent night Wednesday, March 22nd at PGHS and distributed 2023 PGHS Marching Band Packets and discussed our plans for the upcoming season. This is going to be a great year and we got a sneak peak at the music that is being custom written for our band. We loved seeing so many new faces at our recent Band Party for students and hope you feel like band is a place you belong and where you can succeed!
If you’re interested in joining, please read through the packet and talk to band friends or Mr. Succo with any questions you have. Marching Band students need to be between grades 9-12. Color Guard members can be grades 7-12 during the parade season, then grades 9-12 during competition season. We need commitments by May because the drill is being written for a specific number of students and the drill writer has a deadline. Here is the PGHS Marching Band Registration 2023 form that needs to be submitted for each student joining the band.
We’re proposing a Band Tour to California which will include competing at State/Red Rocks in St. George, competing at Bands of America the next day in St. George, driving to California, marching in the Disneyland Parade and spending two days at the Disney Parks with Park Hopper tickets, then driving home the next day. We’ll firm up the details and prices and then have a parent meeting in June to share the itinerary and final pricing and put it to a parent vote. We’re anticipating $1,200 per student for this tour. That’s in addition to Band Fees which are $815 this year. We don’t want anyone to miss out on participating in band for financial reasons so please speak to Mr. Succo if this is an issue and keep reading to learn about our amazing fundraiser/sponsorship currently in progress (you don’t have to sell anything 🙌).
This is going to be a fun year and we have a great opportunity right now to start paying for ALL our fees. Please visit our SignUpGenius to learn how students have started earning money and then sign up to participate!
